Interview

Reporter: So Annie, I hear that your dad is stationed in Gettysburg, in the battle of Gettysburg? How is life without him?

Annie: It's different. Not having him around all the time is really hard, and he was like my best friend. So it's very hard for me to pretend like everything is ok, when it's not.

Reporter: I know what you mean. My dad was also part of the Civil War, and it was very hard for me too. Now how has your mom and sister taken this situation?

Annie: It's going to be hard for anyone that knew him because he was such a great person, and if anything happens to him, it would be devastating. My mom is found crying at random times, like while eating dinner, or while sewing a dress. Anything that reminds her of him makes her cry. My sister is still very young to understand the concept that he may not come back, but she can tell that something's wrong.

Reporter: I hope that everything is ok. When does he come home?

Annie: I hope so too. And I'm really not sure. Whenever the battle is over I guess. But I really don't know how long that's going to take. I'm hoping he will come home soon, just so that I can give him one last hug just in case something were to happen to him.
